Nassau new york community college's leadership opportunity in science and humanities grant began in january1993 and ended june 1996. The project consisted of three components 1 seminars that brought faculty members from different departments together online creative writing courses to help develop and teach three multidisciplinary courses, 2 workshops which facilitated learning communities between sciences and humanities students, and 3 the development of a new liberal arts course of study, focusing on learning communities and multidisciplinary courses.
It includes sections on the study findings and recommendations, characteristics of the migrant farm worker community, alternative and innovative online creative writing courses al approaches to serving this population, a report of the online creative writing courses site visits, effective outreach, recruitment, and retention strategies, appropriate support services, the roles of parent online creative writing courses and family literacy in adult, assessment of student progress and program effectiveness, and a review of the literature.
